Content consumption revolution is becoming a reality in our daily life. The “traditional” TV experience, which was until recently limited to set-top-boxes and TV screens in our living rooms, has made way for a content that has now become almost ubiquitous: in this content consumption revolution, end-users are keen to consume content everywhere, anytime and on a whole range of connected devices capable of rendering video content, from laptops and PCs to any type of end user device such as connected TVs, game consoles, smartphones and tablets, which are accelerating this market trend.

In this exciting revolution time where priorities remain focused on content service deployment and consistent user experience on many different devices, some fundamental questions remain, among which:

  • Are technical requirements and obligations towards content and rights owners fulfilled over time for deployed content services? Will requirements remain fulfilled?
  • Are business rules in place for deployed content services fully enforced to sustain the expected business growth? Will business rules remain enforced?
  • How can Service Providers detect the “weakest link effect” – that would enable one single circumvented component in the complex “TV Everywhere” ecosystem to ruin the whole service business model – and be in a position to react accordingly?
  • How can Service Providers optimize the security ROI through technical and legal means against threats that potentially endanger business models related to content services?
