Webinar: Silo Busting - Paving the way for
future-proof "TV Everywhere" Solution

Resource Center

Many operators have launched their TV services on one single type of network. However, advances in technology and competitive pressures have challenged that, forcing operators to launch their services across various types of networks, such as ADSL, FTTH as well as Satellite, in order to achieve growth and greater penetration.

The seemingly “easy” solution is to build a separate service “silo” for each network, however, this has proved to be expensive and inefficient. This is true especially among carriers providing over-the-top (OTT) services. Operators that want to establish market leading positions must shed redundant weight by breaking those silos and implementing one central unified service platform that will serve multiple devices over different types of networks.

This webinar (from 2012) will review how a single platform can replace multiple “silos” in order to streamline current services and prepare for the future. Philippe Rozes, head of  New TV at Orange Group, will share his insights regarding the largest-ever IPTV/OTT middleware migration taking place in France, a process in which 3 different service platforms, for ADSL, FTTH and hybrid satellite-IP have been converged onto a single unified service platform by Viaccess-Orca.

Key issues which will be addressed during this webinar include:

  • Operators’ classic silos breakdown
  • How to address the different needs of multiple service “silos” with a single Unified Service Platform
  • Live testimonial by France Telecom Orange – the strategy behind merging silos by migrating FT’s subscribers to Viaccess & Orca’s platform
  • What does the future hold for “TV Everywhere” deployments

Webinar speakers:

Sefy Ariely, VP of Sales and Marketing at Orca Interactive,
Noureddine Hamdane, EVP Strategy and Communication at Viaccess and

Philippe Rozes, head of  New TV at Orange Group.
