Viaccess-Orca (VO) has established itself as a true innovator, with 20+ years of experience in the business of premium video management & distribution and dozens of content service provider customers worldwide. The DNA of the company uniquely combines 2 very specific technology know-hows: content protection and engagement / TV viewership data. With the rapid “datafication” of the TV business, these know-hows allow VO to expand its business towards new data-driven growth opportunities.
The Innovation department is tasked with leading the data / algorithmic explorations around such growth opportunities and help foster innovation through the provision of a supportive infrastructure including expertise and prototyping resources.
We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist who can leverage and develop innovative machine learning, data and text mining technologies, for solving problems within a wide scope.
The Data Scientist will work on highly challenging issues for the TV industry and take a significant part in the company’s growth initiatives, working with developers, analysts, product managers and business owners. Candidates should have a strong background and experience in machine learning pipeline going through business understanding, data exploration, feature engineering, model building and development, performance evaluation, testing, and production deployment.
Responsibilities
- Build pragmatic, scalable, and statistically rigorous solutions to mission critical inferential and decision problems by leveraging or developing state of the art statistical and machine learning methodologies on top of VO’s TV data infrastructure.
- Apply excellent communication skills in order to develop cross-functional partnerships throughout the company and spread scientific best practices.
- Be able to work both independently and collaboratively with other scientists, engineers, designers, UX researchers, and product managers to accomplish challenging tasks that deliver demonstrable value to the company.
- Think creatively and proactively to identify new opportunities within our long term roadmap for data-scientific contributions.
Experience
- Sc. degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or related fields.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in machine learning and statistical analysis.
- Experience in deep learning- An Advantage.
- Proven record for successful implementation of translating business requirements into a technical solution.
- Experience with data analysis using Python, with packages such as NumPy, SciPy, pandas, Sklearn, Keras, Tensorflow, PyTorch.
- Experience with deployed models and preparing the data including AWS services, MLOPS and in SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Spark and big data technologies experience – an advantage.
