Special Holiday Post: Movie Recommendations from Viaccess-Orca's Team!

Christmas is just around the corner. With the holiday season upon us, your to-do lists pile up: shopping for gifts for family, friends and co-workers; buying a million groceries for the all-important holiday dinner; giving your home a much-needed Christmas flare; getting a tree, ornaments, socks - the works.

Only when dinner is over, with everyone home or in bed, and the holiday itself has actually arrived, can you finally relax and, maybe, watch some quality movies.

You can check out what is on TV and hope that “Miracle on 34th Street”is being broadcast again. You can add to your already long to-do list researching all available films. If you are lucky, your content service provider uses Viaccess-Orca's COMPASS, a content discovery platform providing personalized TV and content recommendations tailored to your preferences and tastes.

COMPASS's recommendations work every day of the year, but how often do you get the chance to receive personal recommendations from the people behind the algorithms; the team members of Viaccess-Orca? Enjoy these holiday favorites from our team;

“This film is what Pierre Herme to Macarons… French cinema at its best. So exquisite, so funny, so entertaining you won’t believe it is real. Go yesterday!”

VO’s CEO: François Moreau De St Martin

“I don’t know whether I will recommend only one. Rather, I will offer two French movies and one American one to suit your taste and mood”.

Cover of the movie 8 Women8 Women

“This lovely movie represents for me a colorful, visual version of the famous game ‘Clue’! Eight women of different ages, backgrounds and styles are all suspects of a murder. I particularly love the movie’s sense of fashion and light humor!”

VO’s Deputy CEO: Haggai Barel

Poster of the Bruce Willis movie Die HardDie Hard

“1) Great Action movie with great humor
2) Not too violent, so possible to watch with kids or teens
3) The first in a series of successful ‘Die Hard’ movies.”

VO’s EVP of Marketing, Products and Security: David Leporini

“This is pure poetry on film and so unique. Great quote from the movie, ‘Sorry. I'm a bit of a stickler for paperwork, you see. I mean, where would we be if we didn't stick to the correct procedures?’”

That's a whole lot of options for one holiday. Enough to pass the time pleasantly whatever your taste, while enjoying the festive spirit and waiting for the New Year.

Happy Holidays!
