Viaccess-Orca did not just have serious fun at IBC2012, as we won two awards and received glowing feedback on our social networks. We also demonstrated that Viaccess-Orca is now one strong team capable of providing innovative solutions. As one show participant said:

Our booth at IBC2012 attracted many visitors, including Digital TV Europe, which interviewed three members of Viaccess-Orca's management team: CEO François Moreau de Saint-Martin, Deputy CEO Haggai Barel and EVP of Innovation, Ofer Weintraub. Each highlighted a different aspect of our work in the industry.

Viaccess-Orca's CEO shed some light on major challenges operators are currently facing, including:

1.  Reducing time to market: New applications and solutions will be developed to meet consumer expectations of a revolution in user experience. Operators need to accelerate their time to market in order to integrate these innovations effectively;
2.  User engagement: Enriching the complete user experience demands that consumers be engaged before, while and after viewing content;
3.  Delivery of premium content: Content service providers must first ensure content security in order to continue providing subscribers with premium content.

Our Deputy CEO Haggai Barel introduced Viaccess-Orca's innovative solutions for enabling operators to meet these challenges head-on, such as our new P2P Tracker, which was showcased at IBC2012. This service can detect real-time piracy on peer to peer networks and is an essential tool for delivering secure premium content. In his interview, Barel highlighted additional Viaccess-Orca products that help content service providers reduce their time to market and increase user involvement.

Ofer Weintraub, Viaccess-Orca’s EVP of Innovation demonstrated our latest product, the Data Enrichment and Engagement Platform (DEEP), which was unveiled during IBC2012.

In a separate interview to Videonet, our CEO François Moreau de Saint Martin described DEEP as an innovative metadata platform that enables users to explore content and information in an entirely new way that is both engaging and compelling.

Francois also shared his vision for the future of pay TV operators' second screen applications. He believes that such applications, combined with the main screen experience, should offer the user a compelling, personalized experience. According to him, second screen applications not only lead to increased content consumption, but also pave the way for targeted advertising and T-commerce.
